Junior Primary

As a Christian school, we aim to provide a caring environment where Biblical values, and a strong Christian ethos is celebrated and upheld. This is achieved through active times of Prayer, Praise and Worship and devotional times throughout our school week.  

Our Foundation Phase follows the Education Departments CAPS curriculum. 

We have two classes per Grade.  Each class has a fully qualified teacher who is passionate about helping learners to do their best. 

Education does not only take place in the classroom but also on the Sports Field, organised outings, amazing art lessons and vibrant music experiences.  Our assembly is designed to allow each learner to experience more of God’s presence and His love. Our librarian stimulates a passion for reading and offers a range of books for all interests. 

At Maritzburg Preparatory School the whole child is developed.  Our academic standard is of a very high standard. We also aim to keep the balance of encouraging each learner to develop emotionally, spiritually, physically and mentally. The character of a child is taken into account and opportunities and guidance for growth are encouraged. 

When our learners leave us in Grade 3 our aim is for them to be confident, caring and courageous.
